The intent of this program is to minimize health and safety risk to our employees as it relates to the OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030 Blood Borne Pathogens and 29 CFR 1910.1200 Hazard Communication Standard.  Brevard Public Schools (BPS) initiates annual subject training for all employees (existing & new) at the beginning of each school year.  Schools/sites are required to retain training affidavits pertaining to their staff.  The site-based administrator (Principal) is required to update the site’s Hazard Exposure Control Plan at the beginning of each school year, as well.  This is often done with the assistance of the site’s Head Custodian and/or Assistant Principal.  ‘At-Risk Employees’ are afforded hepatitis-B vaccinations (purchased from the Local Health Department) upon risk determination.
